Dadadadada....

Top of the beautiful South Carolina morning to ya'll! As I sit in bed, I hear the babbling of seven month old, Zoe. Quiet mornings have now become my most favorite part of the day since becoming a mom. You really have to enjoy the tranquility when you can!

I started off with Josh's alarm beeping at 6 AM with a few nudges from him for me to get up so I can try out my new, Brooks Ghost 4, running shoes. I really had my alarm set to go off at 6:30 AM but I was glad to have had an earlier start. Breakfast consisted of a slice of Whole Foods Early Bird toast with jam and almond butter. After letting that settle, started out around 6:34 AM.  This would be my first official morning run in hopes to get conditioned for the spring MudRun in Greenville. What a beautiful 77 degree morning! I was able to get some morning prayers in as well- so peaceful.  I got back within a half hour- just time to shower, have a snack and a cup of joe with Joshua before he headed out to work.

Around four weeks postpartum, I started exercise again. I've been working out five days a week and rest on the weekend. The past couple months have consisted of rebounding, weight training and Jillian Michaels Shred and Ripped DVD's. Those are fine and dandy, but they do get boring. About three weeks ago Joshua and his brother, Nathan, began running to prepare for the Spinx Run at the end of October. I started to get the bug and now here I am.

Yesterday, was a fun day to say the least. This may sound cheese, but really anytime I am with my family is just the best :) After Mass we ate at Brixx at Greenridge.  Joshua and I shared a Brixx Chicken Salad and a Wild Mushroom Pizza with arugula, whole wheat crust and Vegan cheese. I splurged and got a beer sampler. So Good! We then headed to Half Moon Outfitters where Joshua had gotten me a gift card a couple weeks ago (For no reason at all. Can you say worlds best husband!) They were very helpful there and the first time I slipped on the Ghost 4 I knew we'd be friends. Academy Sports was next on the list. Sophia, needed some running shoes as well. Saturday, we went for a family run and she actually made it 3/4 of a mile and then walked jogged for the rest of the 2 1/4 mile. This milestone called some sturdier shoes that hopefully wouldn't make her trip and fall. We found some New Balance kicks that worked like a charm and now we are a running family in the making.

Zoe has now drifted off to sleep and Sophia has now become, "Miss Caliente." My day has officially just begun....
